Greetings and salutations, One and All!
Last Sunday (9/07), we discussed what it means to carry your cross and learned some ways in which God takes things that are seemingly broken or ruined beyond repair, and turns them into something beautiful and meaningful.
This Sunday (9/14), we’ll look at how God desires to meet us where we are regardless of where that may be. Join us at 10:00am for Holy Eucharist, followed by coffee hour.
God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us
Next Tuesday, September 16, at 7:00 pm, we will begin a 6-week discussion group on the topic of church hurt, utilizing the book God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us by The Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dail. This will be a great way to learn how we can listen to and support our neighbors who have had painful experiences with the Church in the past, so we are all encouraged to attend. Books for this discussion group will be provided; but be sure to let Ron Parker, who will be leading the group, know that you wish to participate.
World Communion Sunday
Mark your calendars – it’s that time of year again! Twice now, we have gathered with several other local congregations to celebrate World Communion Sunday, and as they way, if you’ve done something twice in the Epicopal church, it’s tradition! This year, WCS is on October 5, and we will once again meet at Grace UMC at 12:30 to observe an ecumenical communion. What a wonderful way to acknowledge the things we share in common!
Classroom Needs
Kudos to you, dear people of St. Paul’s!!! You were asked to help provide supplies to Christina, our “ambassador” to the students, and you have taken that task seriously and joyfully! Currently, the wish list is still the same: good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex. So, keep up the good work; the next time you’re doing a little shopping, pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate.
