St. Paul’s Newsletter – 30 April 2026

Hello, loved ones. We are about half-way through the Easter season and I do hope it has been a blessed one for all of you. Christ is risen! The Lord is risen indeed; alleluia!

Did You Know?…

Today (4/30) is National Honesty Day as well as National Oatmeal Cookie Day. Now, those are some holidays I can definitely get behind!

Read more about these, and other things celebrated on April 30 at this link: On This Day – April 30, 2026 – National Day Calendar

Sermon Themes

Last Sunday (4/26), the 4th Sunday of Easter, we discussed the kind of faith that God, our Good Shepherd, leads us to: that is, faith that overcomes fear.

This Sunday (5/03), the 5th Sunday of Easter, our gospel lesson reiterates that Jesus is our Good Shepherd who cares for us both in life and in death, and encourages us who follow Christ to become involved in this life-affirming message. Please join us for Holy Eucharist at 10am, followed by coffee hour.

Sunny Dayz Mural Festival

We have been invited to support this exciting upcoming event in Claremore! The main day of the festival will be May 30, but there is much to do before that day arrives. Here are some ways we can get involved:

– Volunteer! Interested folks can email production@sunnydayzmuralfest.com to request the sign up link.

– Provide in-kind donations of bottled water, sunscreen/bug spray, food and snacks for our artists, as well as lodging at hotels and AirBnBs. For reference, we have 39 artists from across Oklahoma and the United States plus a volunteer production team of about 20 more folks.

– Pay for printing services for vinyl banners

– Provide for group meals

St. Paul’s Establishes Regular Office Hours

It has been quite some time since our church offices have been open on a regular basis; but we have exciting news! The building will now be open for regular office hours from 11am-4pm on the first and third Fridays of each month.

Tuesdays at RSU

Last Tuesday (4/28), we completed our discussion of Transforming by Austen Hartke. Next Tuesday (5/05), will be a time to simply relax and enjoy some snacks – a much needed reprieve for our students who will be studying diligently for final exams.

Be on the lookout for the occasional summer event for our college students. They have become an integral part of our church family, so we want to maintain that relationship while they’re on break.

Next Fall, we will resume Tuesdays @ RSU with the book Forging a Sacred Weapon by Kathy Baldock.

Food Pantry Needs

Add this to your grocery list: The Pride Community Shelf needs to remain continuously stocked! We have many people who are utilizing this resource, so keep the non-perishables coming! The shelf is located near our entrance through the double red doors of the church next to the small community library.

Classroom Needs

Current classroom needs are for yarn, high-lighters, good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex; so, the next time you’re doing a little shopping, pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate.
