What We Believe

A faith that begins with love and makes room for every story

Faith should feel like real life

Faith here is not about having all the answers. It is about discovering love, purpose, healing, and trust in God at a pace that feels honest. St. Paul’s is a place where people can bring their full story. Whether someone carries joy, grief, doubt, longing, or curiosity, there is room for them here. No one is pressured to fit a mold. Your story matters.

Rooted in ancient faith, open to God’s movement today

The Episcopal tradition is part of the world’s oldest stream of Christianity and still growing into God’s future. The ancient prayers, Scripture, and sacraments ground this faith with depth and wisdom. At the same time, thoughtful reflection, conversation, and questions are encouraged. Faith is not afraid of science, learning, or honest exploration. Here, both heart and mind are welcome.

Prayer that carries people through life

The Book of Common Prayer is a spiritual anchor in this community. It offers language for seasons of joy and seasons of sorrow. It holds space for both silence and hope. It helps people pray together in worship and it also supports prayer at home, in daily life. No one has to walk with God alone or wonder how to pray. The prayer tradition of the church is here to hold you when words are hard to find.

Following Jesus in the way of love

Jesus reveals a God who heals, restores, and brings hope to ordinary people. He welcomed outsiders, stood against injustice, fed the hungry, and lifted the weary. He loved with courage and taught a love that changes lives. The way of Jesus is at the heart of this church, and it is practiced in daily life—with compassion, mercy, honesty, and joy.

Loved by God. No exceptions.

Every person is created in the image of God. Every person is beloved. St. Paul’s is a safe and affirming spiritual home for all people, including those who have been made to feel unwelcome or unworthy in the past. People of every race, culture, economic background, gender identity, and sexual orientation are embraced here. If you have ever felt pushed away by church, you will not experience that here. You are welcome and wanted.

Faith that becomes action

Faith is not only something to believe. It is something to live. The Christian life calls people to love their neighbors, seek justice, lift one another up, and care for the world God made. Here, faith is practiced through friendship, service, kindness, forgiveness, and shared life. The goal is not perfection but transformation through love.

Nobody journeys alone

Life is better together. At St. Paul’s, faith grows in community. People share stories, ask questions, support one another, and discover God’s presence in ordinary life. Whether someone is brand new to faith or returning after years away, there is a place for them at the table.

A local church with a global connection

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is part of the Episcopal Church in the United States and the worldwide Anglican Communion. This global family of Christians worships in many languages and cultures but shares a common hope in Christ and a commitment to love.
