Greetings, all, and happy Corn on the Cob Day! No, really! June 11 is the official celebration of corn. This summertime favorite is beloved around the world.
Did You Know?…
A corncob is part of the corn plant’s flower? The individual kernels are seeds of the plant.
Corn or maize is an ancient plant native to the Americas. It is believed that corn was first cultivated in Mexico and spread around the world via European explorers in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Sermon Themes
Last Sunday (6/07), the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, we learned how to love in a world that often struggles to love well, by expressing tenderness the way Christ does.
This Sunday (6/14), the 3rd Sunday after Pentecost, we’ll delve more deeply into Gods compassion and tenderness and the role we play in sharing it with the world. Please join us at 10 am for the service, followed by coffee hour.
Summer Movie Night
Join us tomorrow night, Friday, June 12, at 6pm in the parish hall for summer movie night. We’ll have make-your-own pizzas, popcorn and other fun snacks as we watch a couple of fun flicks – one a dramedy based on a true story about lesbian and gay activists who raised money to help families affected by the British miners’ strike in 1984, and the other a comedy about a gay couple whose son is set to marry the daughter of conservative senator.
This will be a great way to sit back and relax as we enjoy each other’s company in an informal setting, so come along and bring a friend!
Ministry/Discretionary Fund
This is an account set up specifically for use to help people who contact us with a need, such as paying an electric or phone bill.
We currently have the opportunity to help a family pay funeral costs for a lost loved one.
Unfortunately, our funds in this account are seriously low right now. Any undesignated offerings received on the 3rd Sunday of each month go towards this fund; but you can contribute to this account anytime. To make an online donation to this account simply click on the link below.

Tuesdays at RSU
The first of our summer events will be movie night on June 12 (see above for more information).
Next Fall, we will resume Tuesdays @ RSU with the book Forging a Sacred Weapon by Kathy Baldock.
Food Pantry Needs
Add this to your grocery list: The Pride Community Shelf needs to remain continuously stocked! We have many people who are utilizing this resource, so keep the non-perishables coming! The shelf is located near our entrance through the double red doors of the church next to the small community library.
Classroom Needs
The school year is quickly winding down; but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still needs, and we’ll have to begin preparing for next year soon, so keep those donations coming!
