St. Paul’s Newsletter – 9 October 2025

Greetings, Everyone!

Last Sunday (10/05), we joined the apostles in saying to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” We discovered that it only takes a tiny amount of faith for big things to happen, and that practicing the faith we have by serving others will help that faith to grow.

This Sunday (10/12), we will join with centuries of saints who have observed Morning Prayer. Ron Parker will lead this beautiful service, and he will share some of his thoughts on the lessons. Join us at 10:00am for Morning Prayer, followed by coffee hour.

God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us

Next Tuesday, October 14, at 7:00 pm, we will have our fifth discussion group on the topic of church hurt, utilizing the book God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us by The Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dial. We meet in room 207 of the library on the RSU campus; if you would like to join via Zoom, please email admin@stpaulsclaremore.org for the link.

Halloween Festivities

On Saturday, October 25, we’ll be joining with our friends from the First Christian Church and Grace UMC for the annual Trunk or Treat festival held in the FCC parking lot. We’ll be handing out coloring books, markers, colored pencils, crayons, and – of course – candy (preferably not chocolate since it melts outside)! So, start bringing in those donations so we have plenty to give to the community!!!

Classroom Needs

You were asked to help provide supplies to Christina, our “ambassador” to the students, and you have taken that task seriously and joyfully! Christina informs us that she has such a healthy supply that she has been able to share with some of the other teachers around her. Praise the Lord, and keep up the good work, dear people of St. Paul’s!!!

Currently, the wish list is still the same: good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex. So, the next time you’re doing a little shopping, pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate.

Let Us Pray

  • For all students, faculty, and staff, especially Christina and Shelby
  • That the book discussion on church hurt will prove successful and beneficial to all involved
  • That our parishioners will exemplify God’s love and peace during this time when so much religious, social, and political unrest plagues our community, nation, and world
  • For all individuals living in fear due to new executive orders and mandates being imposed
  • For Ukraine and Russia
  • For Israel and Palestine
  • For Lane/ Wayne Hanway/ Temple Abel/ John/ Shelby/ Kaitlyn/ Patty/ Karen/ Lee/ Nathan/ Tammy Morales/ Cynthia Woods/ Chris/ Rose/ Brady/ Zachary/ Donna/ Justin/ Robert/ Lenny/ John/ Cooper/ Josh/ Steven/ Connor/ Pastor James Coulter and Mt. Zion Baptist Church
