St. Paul’s Newsletter – 2 October 2025

Hello, All, and happy October!

Last Sunday (9/28), we looked at what it means to pursue righteousness and faith, godliness and love, endurance and gentleness. As we cultivate these qualities, we become better prepared to meet people where they are, which is exactly what God does for us all!

This Sunday (10/05), we join the apostles in saying to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” Since we learned last Sunday that pursuing faith creates a solid foundation upon which we can build our ministry to the world around us, we’ll see what Jesus had to say in response to the request of the apostles, and look at what other clues the scriptures have to offer on this subject. Join us at 10:00am for Holy Eucharist, followed by coffee hour.

World Communion Sunday

WCS is THIS Sunday (October 5), and as has become our tradition, we will once again meet at Grace UMC (9472 OK-20, Claremore 74019) at 12:30 to observe an ecumenical communion. What a wonderful way to acknowledge the things we share in common with our siblings in Christ from other congregations and denominations!

God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us

Next Tuesday, October 7, at 7:00 pm, we will have our fourth discussion group on the topic of church hurt, utilizing the book God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us by The Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dail. We meet in room 207 of the library on the RSU campus; or you would like to join via Zoom please send an email to admin@stpaulsclaremore.org for a link.

Halloween Festivities

The Monster Bash on Friday, October 24 has been cancelled; but, on Saturday, October 25, we’ll be joining with our friends from the First Christian Church and Grace UMC for the annual Trunk or Treat festival held in the FCC parking lot. We’ll be handing out coloring books, markers, colored pencils, crayons, and – of course – candy (preferably not chocolate since it melts outside)! So, start bringing in those donations so we have plenty to give to the community!!!

Classroom Needs

You were asked to help provide supplies to Christina, our “ambassador” to the students, and you have taken that task seriously and joyfully! Christina informs us that she has such a healthy supply that she has been able to share with some of the other teachers around her. Praise the Lord, and keep up the good work, dear people of St. Paul’s!!!

Currently, the wish list is still the same: good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex. So, the next time you’re doing a little shopping, pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate.
