Greetings and Salutations, One and All!
I hope you are all thoroughly enjoying the cooler weather this week!
Last Sunday (8/24), we discussed ways to build an unshakable faith in God and learned that faith does NOT mean never having doubts or questions.
This Sunday (8/31), we’ll mix things up since it’s a 5th Sunday. The idea is to create a sermon together as you – the members of our congregation – share your favorite passages of scripture and what they mean to you. (If you’re not comfortable speaking in front of everyone, type yours up and Rev. Nancy will read it for you.) Join us at 10:00am for Holy Eucharist, followed by coffee hour.
God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us
Tuesday, September 16, at 7:00 pm, we will begin a 6-week discussion group on the topic of church hurt, utilizing the book God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us by The Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dail. This will be a great way to learn how we can listen to and support our neighbors who have had painful experiences with the Church in the past, so we are all encouraged to attend. Books for this discussion group will be provided; but be sure to let Ron Parker, who will be leading the group, know that you wish to participate. The deadline for ordering books through Ron is August 31.
Classroom Needs
School is back in session, and as the only teacher in our congregation right now, Christina has been asked what needs we – her church family – can help to supply. Right now, the biggest need is for good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex. The next time you’re doing a little shopping, you can pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate. Let’s support our “ambassador” to the students!
Let Us Pray
