Hello, All!
Last Sunday (8/10), we looked at what it means and what it takes to live for a heavenly country. We learned some practical ways to “set our minds on things above,” and how we can “be doers of the word.” No surprise, it begins with regular study of the Word and time spent in prayer.
This Sunday (8/17), we will hear how, even amidst division, we can still thrive as ministers for Christ’s gospel, especially since we are “surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses” – the saints that have gone before us! Join us at 10:00am for Holy Eucharist, followed by coffee hour.
Regional Meeting to be Held 17 August
This Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm, Episcopal churchgoers from our entire Northeast region are invited to gather for a meeting wherein we will elect our next General Convention delegates as well as vote on leadership for Clericus. All interested in serving as a delegate at General Convention in Phoenix, AZ July 3-8, 2027, should attend.
Classroom Needs
School is back in session, and as the only teacher in our congregation right now, Christina has been asked what needs we – her church family – can help to supply. Right now, the biggest need is for good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex. The next time you’re doing a little shopping, you can pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate. Let’s support our “ambassador” to the students!
Humanitarian Support for Gaza
Bishop Poulson solicited our donations for our siblings in Christ in Gaza, and we at St. Paul’s Claremore accepted that challenge. All undesignated funds placed in last Sunday’s offering plate were given to this cause; and, with the addition of some funds which came in after the service, we were able to send $100 to help our far-away neighbors. Well done, good and faithful servants! Well done!
Big Tent Day at RSU
Plan to join us next Wednesday, August 20, from 9:30-2:00 for the annual Big Tent Day on the Rogers State University campus. This is a great opportunity for us to show what we have to offer this community; so, if you’re free for a few minutes or a few hours on this day, join us at the St. Paul’s booth!
Note: we also need folks to help set the booth up at 8:30, and break it down at 2:00.
