Greetings, All! I hope you are surviving these torturously hot and humid summer days!
Last Sunday, July 13, we continued our theme, taste and see that the Lord is good, by looking at what Moses had to say to the Israelites about the importance of remembering the old stories of the goodness of the Lord; what the apostle, Paul, had to say about the importance of sharing our stories of how we’ve experienced God’s goodness; what Jesus had to say about the importance of recognizing that we often experience the goodness of the Lord through the words and actions of others – even those from whom we least expect it; and how the Psalmist’s words remind us of the importance of nurturing the growth of God’s goodness through regular prayer and Bible study.
This Sunday, July 20, we will look at how the goodness of the Lord often seems unattainable. Bring a friend and join us at 10:00am for Holy Eucharist.
Christian Formation: Summer Yoga with the Psalms
Our yoga sessions have been a wonderful way to unwind at the end of the day and to give ourselves time to meditate on God’s word. If you haven’t had a chance to attend yet, it’s not too late; these free classes will continue through the last Thursday of this month. Come on out this evening at 7:00pm! No yoga mat? No problem! The instructors bring extras.
As a reminder, these classes are FREE and open to the entire community, though we are collecting donations for Meals on Wheels.
Readings for Week 8 (beginning July 20)
- Track 1 – Psalms 130, 131, 133, 134, 136, 138, 140

Meals on Wheels Needs Volunteers
Substitute Drivers:
This job is simple and does not require a lot of time. Meals are delivered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Drivers meet at the building to collect the groceries at about 9:45am, and are finished making deliveries by around 11:00am.
Kitchen Help:
For this job, you must have a food handlers permit from the Health Department to assist in preparing the meals before delivery.
If you, or anyone you know, is available to serve in either of these positions, please let Rev. Nancy know, or contact Jo or Linda at Meals on Wheels (jmmvww@gmail.com).
