St. Paul’s Newsletter – 19 June 2025

Greetings, Everyone!

Today (June 19) is Juneteenth! If you’re not sure what that means, here is a link to a 3-1/2-minute video that provides a short history of the federal holiday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7UaaAyPqPY

Last Sunday,  June 15, we had the privilege of hearing Deacon Linda preach as she explained the important connection between Easter, Pentecost, and Trinity Sunday. Thanks for the inspirational and educational message, Linda!

This Sunday, June 22, we will worship in the form of a PRIDE Mass. It will be a customary Episcopal Eucharistic service; but the lessons and prayers are specifically suited to supporting the LGBTQIA2+ community. As such, feel free to wear your shirts, buttons, and pins that show your love for all God’s people to church that day. During the service, we will hear a message from Ron Parker about his journey of faith, and after the service, we will – of course! – feed all who are in attendance! This you will not want to miss, so bring a friend and join us at 10:00am!

Christian Formation: Summer Yoga with the Psalms

This week’s meditative prompt (June 19): Psalm 46

Our yoga sessions have been a wonderful way to unwind at the end of the day and to give ourselves time to meditate on God’s word. If you haven’t had a chance to attend yet, it’s not too late. Come on out this evening at 7:00pm!

As a reminder, these classes are FREE and open to the entire community, so spread the word and invite everyone you can!

Readings for Week 4 (beginning June 22)

  • Track 1 – Psalms 51, 55, 56, 59, 62, 63, 65
  • Track 2 – Psalms 51-70

PRIDE in the Park

Saturday, June 21, from 3-9pm, St. Paul’s will host a booth at the Claremore Pride Festival to be held at the park on Claremore Lake. Come one, come all, to celebrate love and community and the fact that ALLpeople are created in God’s image!

Progressive Service with Mt. Zion Baptist Church

Sunday, June 29, we will once again be participating in a progressive service with our friends from Mt. Zion. Coffee and donuts will be available at St. Paul’s at 9:00am, then the first part of the service begins at 9:30am. We will celebrate Episcopal-style and hear a sermon delivered by Pastor Coulter. Then, we’ll all drive over (progress) to the Mt. Zion church campus for the second half of the service wherein we will worship Mt. Zion-style and hear a sermon delivered by Rev. Nancy. This collaboration was a rousing success when we tried it last October, and we expect this time to be no exception! Bring a friend and join us as we celebrate God’s love together!

St. Paul’s T-shirts

T-shirts are in!!! You may retrieve yours at yoga this evening, at the Pride festival on Saturday, or at church Sunday morning.
