St. Paul’s Newsletter – 23 October 2025

Last Sunday (10/19), we learned about the correlation between faithful persistence and God’s blessing.

This Sunday (10/26), as we launch our annual Stewardship Campaign, we will discuss how we can give to God as God has given to us. Join us at 10:00am for Holy Eucharist, followed by coffee hour.

***Note*** Don’t forget to bring baked goods for the RSU Pride bake sale, and remember that we’re celebrating Oktoberfest during coffee hour this week. It should be lots of fun, so don’t miss out!

Trunk or Treat – THIS Saturday

THIS Saturday, October 25, we’ll be joining with our friends from the First Christian Church and Grace UMC for the annual Trunk or Treat festival held in the FCC parking lot (or inside if it’s raining). We’ll be handing out coloring books, markers, colored pencils, crayons, and – of course – candy (preferably not chocolate since it melts outside)! The festivities are scheduled from 2-4 pm; but we’ll begin setting up at 12:30. Feel free to don a costume (or not) and join us in this fun event!

RSU Pride Bake Sale

Friday, October 31, students in the RSU Pride group will be holding a bake sale. We can help them by bringing individually-wrapped, NUT-FREE baked goods this coming Sunday morning (10/26). Let’s all do our best to show our support for these dear friends!

As a side note, they also collect aluminum cans ALL the time; so, anytime you have a bag of cans for recycling, bring those to church too!

God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us

Next Tuesday, October 28, at 7:00 pm, we will have our seventh discussion group on the topic of church hurt, utilizing the book God Didn’t Make Us to Hate Us by The Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dial. During this session, we’ll look at chapters 17-19. We meet in room 207 of the library on the RSU campus; or if you would like to join via Zoom send an email to admin@stpaulsclaremore.org for a link

Classroom Needs

You were asked to help provide supplies to Christina, our “ambassador” to the students, and you have taken that task seriously and joyfully! Christina informs us that she has such a healthy supply that she has been able to share with some of the other teachers around her. Praise the Lord, and keep up the good work, dear people of St. Paul’s!!!

Currently, the wish list is still the same: good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex. So, the next time you’re doing a little shopping, pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate.

Let Us Pray

  • For the safety of all who work and/or attend the Trunk of Treat festivities this Saturday
