Hello, dear friends, and happy April! Easter is just around the corner, so consider this your special invitation to join us as we celebrate the risen Savior!
Last Sunday (3/29), Palm Sunday, the service began in the Parish Hall where we prayed and read a brief passage of scripture before embarking on our annual procession around the church building while we cast our palm leaves on the path and sang – a tradition which emulates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
This Sunday (4/05), Easter Day, we’ll observe the Great Easter Vigil. The vigil is traditionally observed throughout the night from Holy Saturday into Resurrection Sunday and culminates in a vigil service at sunrise. This year, we’ll celebrate that service at our normal service time – 10:00 am. This special service is beautiful, and just different enough from the regular Eucharistic service to make it perfect for marking the celebration of Christ’s victory over death. As always, the service will be followed by coffee hour, with ham, coconut cake, mimosas, and other yummy Easter Dinner treats. We hope you’ll join us!
Also during coffee hour we will complete the Easter baskets for the children of some local families If you would like to contribute to the baskets, simply bring something to go in them.
Lenten Dinner & Worship
This year during Lent, we have been, once again, collaborating with Grace UMC in Claremore, Claremore First Christian Church, and Verdigris UMC for weekly dinner and worship on Thursdays at 6 pm. Tonight (5/02), we meet one final time at Grace UMC for an ecumenical Maundy Thursday service.
Tuesdays at RSU
Tuesdays @ RSU has resumed with the book entitled Transforming by Austen Hartke. If you would like a copy of this book, please reply to this email or let Ron Parker know. Next Tuesday, April 7, the discussion continues with chapter 6 and 7.
Join us live each Tuesday at 7pm in room 207 of the Stratton Taylor Library on the RSU campus, or via Zoom. link available by sending an email to admin@stpaulsclaremore.org
Parking Lot Flea Market Only One Week Away!
The time is almost upon us for the much-anticipated community flea market. This is a collaborative event with Claremore Pride wherein spaces in our parking lot may be rented by vendors for $15 each. In addition, we will have a snack bar and silent auction available inside the parish hall. This will be a fun way to get together with our family and friends; so, save the date – April 11, from 8am-3pm – and keep spreading the word! We hope to see you there!!!

Classroom Needs
Christina has made us aware of a new need for the students at her school: Yarn – all colors and thicknesses welcome. No need to spend a lot of money – Red Heart yarn is decent quality and relatively inexpensive. We are also still collecting high-lighters, good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex; so, the next time you’re doing a little shopping, pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate.
Be on the lookout for new requests as the school year progresses!
