St. Paul’s Newsletter – 12 September 2024

Greetings, dear ones!

Be doers of the word

Last week (9/08), we heard some practical ways we can be doers of the word. This Sunday (9/15), join us at 9:30 am as we celebrate Holy Eucharist and learn how being a doer of the word is related to taking up your cross.

Christian Formation

Last Sunday (9/08), we began scoring our Spiritual Gifts inventories. This week (9/15) at 8:30 am, our journey to discover our spiritual gifts continues. During this course of study, we’ll find out what the gifts are, how you can discover which of these gifts you have, and how you can put them to practical use. You are invited to join us on this exciting journey.

Confirmations

Cindy Peters, Danny Haden, and Ron Parker will be confirmed on Sunday, September 22 @ 11:00 am. The bishop will be at Trinity Tulsa on that day, and Father Lee and Mother Cheryl have graciously agreed to have us all join them during their 11:00 service. Come celebrate with us on this joyous occasion (501 S. Cincinnati Ave., downtown Tulsa – parking lot & entrance on south side of church)! Those who wish to share rides should meet in the St. Paul’s parking lot in time to depart for Trinity no later than 10:00 am. ***No formation class or eucharistic service will be provided at St. Paul’s on this day.***

Guest Speaker, Rev. James Coulter to preach on September 29

Sunday, September 29, The Reverend James Coulter, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, will participate in a pulpit swap/share with The Reverend Nancy. The members of Mt. Zion have been invited to join us at St. Paul’s for coffee and treats at 8:30, after which we will celebrate Holy Eucharist together and hear a sermon from Rev. James. After Eucharist, Pastor James has invited us to join him and his congregation at Mt. Zion for their 11:00 service wherein Rev. Nancy will preach. This offers an exciting opportunity for us to cross denominational, ethnic, and gender boundaries which are so often divisive, and to focus instead on our shared love and faith in Christ! ***No Christian Formation class this day.***
