    Greetings and salutations, Everyone!

What a marvelous celebration we had last Sunday as we watched Cindi, Danny, and Ron being confirmed! And the next two Sundays promise to be equally exciting. The blessings of the Lord are new every morning! Hallelujah!

Guest Speaker, Rev. James Coulter to preach on September 29

This coming Sunday (9/29), Pastor James D. Coulter of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, will participate in a pulpit swap/share with The Reverend Nancy. The members of Mt. Zion have been invited to join us at St. Paul’s for coffee and donuts beginning at 8:30, after which we will celebrate Holy Eucharist together and hear a sermon from Pastor Coulter. After Eucharist, Pastor Coulter has invited us to join him and his congregation at Mt. Zion for their 11:00 service wherein Rev. Nancy will preach. This offers an exciting opportunity for us to cross denominational, ethnic, gender, and generational boundaries which can so often be divisive, and to focus instead on our shared love and faith in Christ! Be on the lookout for an article about this event in the Claremore newspaper. ***No Christian Formation class this day.***

Wednesday, October 23, the mobile food pantry from Grace United Methodist Church will be in the St. Paul’s parking lot from 5-8 pm. • St. Paul’s Newsletter – 22 August 2024

Greetings, dear friends! I hope this letter finds you enjoying this cooler weather as summer winds down in Oklahoma.

Jesus said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.”

Those who partake of this living bread, Jesus continues, abide in Jesus and he in them. Last week (8/18), we heard about what it means to abide in Christ. This Sunday (8/25), join us at 9:30 am as we celebrate Holy Eucharist and learn about the results of abiding in Christ.

    Christian Formation: Spiritual Gifts

Last Sunday (8/18), we discussed the importance of knowing what your spiritual gifts are. This week (8/25) at 8:30 am, our journey to discover our spiritual gifts continues. As this course continues, we’ll find out what the gifts are, how you can discover which of these gifts you have, and how you can put them to practical use. You are invited to join us on this exciting journey.

    Big Tent Day at RSU

RSU’s Big Tent Day took place on Wednesday, August 21. This was a fun event, and a great opportunity for our congregation to meet and reach out to RSU students and personnel. Several St. Paul’s folks were able to work our table, and the event itself was a huge success – even larger than last year, with over 100 organizations participating. We were able to give away all kinds of fun freebies, as well as to share information about what St. Paul’s has to offer our local college community – including “families away from home” for our international and out-of-state friends. We look forward to more opportunities to serve this collegiate community.

    Confirmations

We are excited to announce that Cindy Peters, Danny Haden, and Ron Parker will be confirmed on Sunday, September 22 @ 11:00 am. The bishop will be at Trinity Tulsa on that day, and Father Lee and Mother Cheryl have graciously agreed to have us all join them during their 11:00 service. Come celebrate with us on this joyous occasion!

New Service Times to Begin October 6

The results of the time change poll are in, and the overwhelming majority of you indicated that you prefer Sunday School to begin at 9:00 am and Holy Eucharist at 10:00 am. As a result, we will be implementing this time change beginning the first Sunday of October (10/06). Until then, we’ll continue to meet at 8:30 am and 9:30 am, respectively.

    Let Us Pray

    • That our parishioners will exemplify God’s peace during this time when so much religious, social, and political unrest plagues our community, nation, and world
    • For the continued success of our efforts at RSU’s Big Tent Day
    • For all students and school personnel as they return to school

    Peace to you, my friends!

Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.”

Last week (7/28), we looked at a couple of instances in scripture when people were frightened or anxious; but were reminded that God is always present, taking care of our needs, and reassuring us of his love and provision. The Gospel lesson for this Sunday (8/04) reminds us that in addition to taking care of our physical needs, God also makes provision for our spiritual needs. Join us at 9:30 am for the celebration of Holy Eucharist.
