I was pleased to hear from many of you that you survived last weekend’s tornado without physical injuries or structural damage to your homes. I hope that, by now, you have also managed to clean up the destruction to your yards, and that your electricity has been restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several of us gathered at the church property on Monday morning to clean up the carnage there. While there, we experienced an unexpected blessing: the appearance of three Good Samaritans who helped with much of the work and hauling away of debris. These were not people we knew; but they saw us out working and simply offered to help. I believe we may have entertained angels in human clothing! May God bless them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Grain of Wheat, A Withered Hand, and Clay Jars<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Last week (5\/26) Trinity Sunday services were cancelled due to the aftereffects of the tornado. As of yesterday afternoon, power had not been restored at the church; but we know that the electric companies are working diligently to get everything back up and running. As such, if we still have no power this Sunday (6\/02), we may worship al fresco<\/em>; but we will<\/u><\/strong> have service nonetheless! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Please join us for worship at 9:30 a.m. We’ll hear about what a grain of wheat, a withered hand, and clay jars have in common. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Christian Formation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ***Note: We will NOT have Sunday School this Sunday, June 2.\u200b***<\/p>\n\n\n\n This summer, our focus in Christian formation will be on Spiritual Gifts. We’ll find out what they are, how you can discover which of these gifts you have, and how you can put them to practical use. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting curriculum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Visits with the Vicar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I have enjoyed visits with a couple of you so far; and I look forward to more to come! This invitation is for all of you: I want to get to know you better, to share your joys and concerns, and simply to hear your stories! Be on the look-out for a “Visits with the Vicar” sign-up sheet on our church bulletin board. If you are unable get to the church, feel free to contact me via email to set up a visit. I will gladly come to you at a location of your choosing – whether at a restaurant (my treat) or in your home. This is not a formal affair; we’ll keep it simple (i.e. coffee, tea, or my drink of choice: water).
