After the service, we had a good time celebrating Oktoberfest during coffee hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Sunday (11\/02), we will observe All Souls and All Saints Days, and Deacon Linda will teach us of the important connection between these two feast days and All Hallows Eve (aka Halloween). Don&#8217;t forget that we have a remembrance table set up in the parish hall, so be sure to bring pictures of your loved ones who have already passed.&nbsp;Join us at 10:00am for Holy Eucharist, followed by coffee hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>***Don&#8217;t forget that the time changes THIS weekend &#8211; we &#8220;fall back&#8221; one hour, so enjoy that extra sleep ***<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RSU Pride Bake Sale &#8211; TOMORROW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tomorrow, Friday, October 31, students in the RSU Pride group will be holding a bake sale from 11-1 in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center. If you didn&#8217;t have a chance to donate any baked items; perhaps you can swing by the campus on your lunch hour and make a purchase. Let&#8217;s all do our best to show our support for these dear friends!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a side note, they also collect aluminum cans ALL the time; so, anytime you have a bag of cans for recycling, bring those to church too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Food Pantry Drives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our bishop has recently encouraged the churches in our diocese to step into the gap which will form when SNAP recipients lose their benefits due to loss of government funding. As it happens, we currently work with two great organizations which have presented us with opportunities to do just this!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>One:<\/u>&nbsp;<\/strong>Pastor Tim from Grace United Methodist Church recently contacted us to let us know that, beginning November 1, their food pantry will be open every day. He asked us to donate funds to help with those extra expenses. If you wish to participate in this financial gift, please&nbsp;designate your offering to &#8220;Grace Food Pantry&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Two:<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;St. Paul&#8217;s is&nbsp;now the host location for the Pride Community Shelf (find it located near our entrance through the double red doors of the church next to the small community library). Suggested items for donation to this shelf include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Proteins: <\/strong>Canned meat or fish, Canned or dried beans, Peanut butter, Lentils&nbsp;and other&nbsp;dried peas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Grains: <\/strong>Rice, Pasta, Cereal and oatmeal,<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Microwaveable&nbsp;mac and cheese cups&nbsp;and&nbsp;ramen noodles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Fruits and vegetables: <\/strong>Canned vegetables like&nbsp;corn,&nbsp;green beans, and&nbsp;mixed vegetables, Canned Fruits, Dried fruits, single-serving Fruit and applesauce cups&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Cooking and meal essentials: <\/strong>Pasta&nbsp;and&nbsp;tomato sauce, Canned soup or stew, Powdered, evaporated, \u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002or boxed shelf-stable milk , vegetable&nbsp;or&nbsp;olive oil .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Spices:<\/strong>&nbsp;Basic seasonings like&nbsp;garlic powder,&nbsp;onion powder, and&nbsp;Italian seasoning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Snacks and beverages: <\/strong>Nuts, Crackers, Drink mixes <strong>(<\/strong>Packets of&nbsp;hot chocolate,&nbsp;coffee, and&nbsp;fruit juice)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002<strong>Hygiene and household supplies:<\/strong> Baby food and diapers, Feminine hygiene products, Personal    hygiene products (soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, and toothbrushes), Laundry detergent and dish soap,Toilet paper.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Live Services Online<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We may be making a switch from Facebook Live to Zoom for our online audience at Sunday services. This Sunday, November 2, will be our &#8220;test run&#8221;. If you are willing to help us test this platform this coming Sunday morning send an email to <a href=\"mailto:admin@stpaulsclaremore.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">admin@stpaulsclaremore.org<\/a> for a link. Note: If you&#8217;ve never used Zoom before, you will be prompted to download it before you will be able to join the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Claremore Pride Youth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesday, November 4, at 6:00 pm, Claremore Pride will hold their 2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;Pride Youth night in the parish hall. These are great opportunities for the young LGBTQIA2+ folks in our community to come together to chat, create craft items, and snack in a safe environment. If you know of a young person who might benefit from these events, invite them to join us the first Tuesday evening of each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>God Didn&#8217;t Make Us to Hate Us<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next Tuesday, November 4, at 7:00 pm, we will have our seventh discussion group on the topic of church hurt, utilizing the book God Didn&#8217;t Make Us to Hate Us&nbsp;by The Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dial. During this session, we&#8217;ll look at chapters 20-22. We meet in room 207 of the library on the RSU campus; or you may join via Zoom. email <a href=\"mailto:admin@stpaulsclaremore.org\">admin@stpaulsclaremore.org<\/a> for a link. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Classroom Needs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You were asked to help provide supplies to Christina, our &#8220;ambassador&#8221; to the students, and you have taken that task seriously and joyfully! Christina informs us that she has such a healthy supply that she has been able to share with some of the other teachers around her. Praise the Lord, and keep up the good work, dear people of St. Paul&#8217;s!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the wish list is still the same: good quality No. 2 pencils, Post-it note pads, and Kleenex. So, the next time you&#8217;re doing a little shopping, pick up one or two of these items, then bring them to church to donate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Let Us Pray<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For the success of the RSU Pride bake sale, and for continued opportunities for collaboration with these individuals who are beautiful images of God<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For all students, faculty, and staff, especially Christina and Shelby<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That the book discussion on church hurt will prove successful and beneficial to all involved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That our parishioners will exemplify God&#8217;s love and peace during this time when so much religious, social, and political unrest plagues our community, nation, and world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For all individuals living in fear due to new executive orders and mandates being imposed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Ukraine and Russia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Israel and Palestine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Lane\/ Wayne Hanway\/ Temple Abel\/ Shelby\/ Kaitlyn\/ Tammy Morales\/ Cynthia Woods\/ Danny\/ Vicki A.\/ Karen\/ Jeff\/ Catherine\/ Vicki\/ Brady\/ Zachary\/ Donna\/ Don\/ Kevin\/ Roger\/ Pastor James Coulter and Mt.
