{"id":1050,"date":"2026-03-18T14:53:26","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T19:53:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stpaulsclaremore.org\/wordpress\/?p=1050"},"modified":"2026-03-18T14:53:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T19:53:29","slug":"st-pauls-newsletter-19-march-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stpaulsclaremore.org\/wordpress\/?p=1050","title":{"rendered":"St. Paul&#8217;s Newsletter &#8211; 19 March 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hello, One and All!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last Sunday (3\/15), the Fourth Sunday in Lent, we discussed some lessons that may be learned when our journey through the wilderness causes us to linger in the same area for a period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Sunday (3\/22), the last Sunday in Lent, Deacon Emeritus Linda Paul will offer insight for our lectionary readings.&nbsp; Join us at 10:00 am for Morning Prayer followed by coffee hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lenten Dinner &amp; Worship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year during Lent, we are, once again, collaborating with Grace UMC in Claremore, Claremore First Christian Church, and Verdigris UMC for weekly dinner and worship on Thursdays at 6 pm. Tonight, we meet at St. Paul&#8217;s. The remaining schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mar 19 &#8211; St. Paul&#8217;s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mar 26 &#8211; FCC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ap 2 &#8211; Grace UMC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tuesdays at RSU<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesdays @ RSU has resumed with the book entitled Transforming&nbsp;by Austen Hartke. If you would like a copy of this book, please reply to this email or let Ron Parker know. Next Tuesday, March 24, we will discuss chapters 3-5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Join us live each Tuesday at 7pm\u00a0 in room 207 of the Stratton Taylor Library on the RSU campus, or via Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parking Lot Flea Market Coming Soon to St. Paul&#8217;s<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In about three weeks, we will host a community flea market in our parking lot. This is a collaborative event with Claremore Pride wherein parking spaces may be rented by vendors for $15 each. Start planning ahead by thinking about whether you would like to rent a space to sell your wares, crafts, or artwork. In addition, we will have a snack bar and silent auction available inside the parish hall. This will be an exciting and fun way to get together with our family and friends; so save the date &#8211; April 11, from 8am-3pm &#8211; and keep spreading the word!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Food Pantry Needs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Add it to your grocery list: <\/strong>The Pride Community Shelf needs to be restocked!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is located near our entrance through the double red doors of the church next to the small community library. Suggested items for donation to this shelf include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Proteins: <\/strong>Canned meat or fish, Canned or dried beans, Peanut butter, Lentils&nbsp;and other&nbsp;dried peas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Grains: <\/strong>Rice, Pasta, Cereal and oatmeal,<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Microwaveable&nbsp;mac and cheese cups&nbsp;and&nbsp;ramen noodles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Fruits and vegetables: <\/strong>Canned vegetables like&nbsp;corn,&nbsp;green beans, and&nbsp;mixed vegetables, Canned Fruits, Dried fruits, single-serving Fruit and applesauce cups&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Cooking and meal essentials: <\/strong>Pasta&nbsp;and&nbsp;tomato sauce, Canned soup or stew, Powdered, evaporated, or boxed shelf-stable milk , vegetable&nbsp;or&nbsp;olive oil .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Spices:<\/strong>&nbsp;Basic seasonings like&nbsp;garlic powder,&nbsp;onion powder, and&nbsp;Italian seasoning&nbsp;can significantly<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002improve a meal&#8217;s flavor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Snacks and beverages: <\/strong>Nuts, Crackers, Drink mixes <strong>(<\/strong>Packets of&nbsp;hot chocolate,&nbsp;coffee, and&nbsp;fruit juice)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002<strong>Hygiene and household supplies:<\/strong> Baby food and diapers, Feminine hygiene products, Personal hygiene \u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002products (soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, and toothbrushes), Laundry detergent and dish soap, Toilet paper.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Classroom Needs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Christina has made us aware of a new need for the students at her school: Yarn &#8211; all colors and thicknesses welcome.<\/strong>No need to spend a lot of money &#8211; Red Heart yarn is decent quality and relatively inexpensive.
